RESOURCES
In partnership with DeKalb County, we’re transforming all 23 DeKalb County Public Libraries into regenerative Earth Hubs. These once-ordinary green spaces are now thriving with native plants, fruiting trees, edible gardens, and pollinator habitats — all designed to restore ecosystems, build healthy soils, and engage the community. This guide will walk you through the plants growing at your local library and give you a closer look at the powerful changes happening right outside your library doors.

FRUITFUL LIBRARIES
Transforming library landscapes into vibrant Earth Hubs with edible gardens, pollinator habitats, and spaces for community learning and climate action.
Roots Down's transition planning product is tailored for existing government assets, or what we refer to as community nodes. Spaces like Libraries, Parks, Community and senior centers are perfect for this Transition plan. This plan is dedicated to converting these spaces into climate-resilient hubs, showcasing stewardship and climate strategies residents can adopt in their neighborhoods. The objective is to harness the growing demand for climate solutions and leverage these hubs to make a meaningful impact in urban areas.
