Hope you had fun at Tuesday night’s meeting!
For those who couldn’t make it or need a little reminder, this is a little summary of what happened and things to do in the meantime!
Muralist, Shannon Willow, presented and brainstormed ideas for the Dekalb mural we will aid her in creating! She wants the GreenHive to sketch out designs, ideas, and elements that could be included in the mural! Think big, think abundance, think diversity! You can see her previous work at shannonwillowart.com
Next, we talked about the zine project! We’ve already had so many great submissions! Keep working on submissions and ask your friends or people you know if they would like to contribute to the zine!
We introduced a new GreenHive meeting schedule! We are asking high schoolers to continue to meet weekly on Tuesday nights for planning and leadership, while the middle schoolers will join the high schoolers once a month for a united meeting in which we debrief that month’s mission, goal, update on projects, and have a fun game night!
We are now asking any high schoolers if they have any friends or classmates that they think would be a good fit for Greenhive! Pass this message to them:
To join GreenHive, write a couple of sentences about your passion for food justice and climate change and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org We’ll send the link for the next meeting!
GreenHive now has its own Instagram! Run by you, the GreenHive. It’s going to be a way for you all to post what you want and share your voice and progress with the world! We can pass around the password each week to those who want to post through the page. Follow at greenhivega
Finally, Jamie is starting an awesome project, where he is going to buy you a plant and give you guidance on how to plant it and maintain it. Think up a plant that you would like to grow and email Jamie at email@example.com, he will help you grow it and you can watch it flourish! Remember to take pictures and videos of the progress!
See you all next time!
